Anna Ermakova Speaks Out About Her Father's Sentencing

Anna Ermakova, the daughter of tennis legend Boris Becker, has spoken out for the first time since her father was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison on Friday. In an interview with the German magazine "Bild," Anna said that she was "deeply saddened" by her father's sentencing but that she understood the court's decision. She also said that she hopes her father will be able to "learn from his mistakes" and that she will continue to support him.

Anna Ermakova was born in 2000 after a brief affair between her mother, Angela Ermakova, and Becker. Becker initially denied paternity, but a DNA test later proved that he was Anna's father. Anna has largely been raised out of the public eye, but she has occasionally been photographed with her father. In 2021, she appeared on the German television show "Let's Dance," which is similar to the British show "Strictly Come Dancing."

Becker was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of hiding assets and loans worth 2.5 million euros (around $2.8 million) from his bankruptcy trustees. The charges stemmed from Becker's 2017 bankruptcy, which followed a series of financial losses. Becker has denied any wrongdoing, and his lawyers have said that they plan to appeal the verdict.
